The First and The Finest

Founded on May 15, 1851, Alpha Delta Pi is the oldest secret society for college women in the world. Established at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia, the first college chartered to grant degrees to women in the world, the story of Alpha Delta Pi is a remarkable one and it all began with a young girl's dream.

Eugenia Tucker was just sixteen years old when she left her family home in Laurens County, Georgia, to enter Wesleyan College. Before the end of her first year she would establish the first sorority in the world.

Today, we are more than 220,000 sisters in over 140 collegiate chapters committed to sisterhood, values and ethics, high academic standards and social responsibility!

Theta Tau Chapter

The Theta Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Pennsylvania was installed on April 5, 2014. Alpha Delta Pi is also home to more than 230,000 women at 146 active collegiate chapters and more than 150 alumnae associations, including 12 active chapters in the SEC. No matter where we go after graduation, we are sure to find other Alpha Delta Pi’s!

From weekly study breaks to sisterhood restaurant trips to attending Phillies games, Theta Tau loves having a great time together! We also host annual date parties, crush parties, and formals. Our motto “We Live for Each Other” truly describes our supportive sisterhood; we are actively involved in many other organizations on campus, but we especially cherish our membership and support system in Alpha Delta Pi!
